Farmer Residencial Training at AAU
During 19th to 23rd December 2011, Poornakumbha organized a Farmer's Training Program in collaboration with Anand Agriculture University, to impart agricultural training to farmers.
The 5-day Residential Training held at Anand Agriculture University, was attended by 50 farmers. It was a very useful platform where experts from the agriculture sector addressed participants on topics including organic farming, methods of producing compost fertilizer, importance of water in agriculture and techniques of effective water management, pest management and crop production, improved variety of crops. Outbound visits were also organized to provide farmers with first-hand exposure to model farms and farming equipment. A special documentary on Cotton Crop and Khet Talavadi was also screened for the farmers.
According to the Director of Anand Agriculture University, “...this collaboration with Poornakumbha Gramin Development Foundation will provide benefits to farmers. We are happy with this collaboration and expect that more number of farmers will come to our institution through Poornakumbha for training...”
