Energy efficiency and renewables are central to Europe’s energy and climate initiatives as they contribute substantially towards reducing CO
2 emissions, improve energy security and can contribute to enhanced competitiveness. The importance of energy efficiency and sound renewables policies are the key to achieving the European strategy for sustainable, competitive and secure energy.
This scenario is leading Europe to drive the shift towards clean, green, and renewable energy from the front. The
EU 27 has taken a mandate to produce 20% of electricity by 2020 from renewable energy.
Abellon is supporting the achievement of these objectives through its
integrated bio energy model with a focus on biomass based power generation and pellets.
Biomass Power Project Partnership with 3N, Italy
Abellon Energy Italy S.r.l., a wholly owned subsidiary of Abellon CleanEnergy Ltd., has entered into a framework agreement with 3N S.r.l. to develop a series of biomass based power projects in Italy.
This synergistic partnership combines 3N’s expertise in the biomass collection chain and association with R&D initiatives related to agronomy and farming in Italy with Abellon’s expertise in developing biomass based power plants, as well as its financial, R&D, and execution capabilities and relationship with leading equipment suppliers across the world.
As a country, Italy is dependent on its neighbors to meet power demand. Biomass power has the potential to reduce the country’s external dependency and carbon footprint, and support larger development objectives through grassroots local income and employment generation opportunities in line with our commitment to the Triple Bottom Line Approach.
